Brooklyn Park, MN – November 8, 2023 – Â鶹ÊÓƵ hosted an event organized by Culinary Arts student Anna Reiman in honor of Veterans Day on Monday. An Iraq War veteran herself, Reiman is currently specializing in Bakery and Pastry Arts and serves on the college’s Student Experience Team. To give back to her fellow veterans, she has coordinated an event to celebrate their service, featuring refreshments she and a team of faculty and fellow students prepared as part of her culinary training.

With support from Â鶹ÊÓƵ Tech’s Campus Yellow Ribbon Committee, Reiman used her growing expertise in baking and pastry to create an inviting space in the Student Commons, where students and staff will have the opportunity to enjoy handmade treats and show their gratitude veterans. “This was a way for me to combine my skills in the kitchen with my passion for supporting veterans,” Reiman said. “It’s an honor to be able to celebrate and recognize their service in a personal way.”

Reiman’s commitment has been supported by the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Tech scholarship she received for the current term, which has allowed her to focus on her studies while finding new ways to serve her community. Her involvement in the Student Experience Team and collaboration with the Yellow Ribbon Committee demonstrate her dedication to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for service members and their families at Â鶹ÊÓƵ Tech.

“We’re incredibly proud of Anna’s accomplishments,” said Â鶹ÊÓƵ Tech’s President, Joy Bodin. “Her initiative to organize this Veterans Day event highlights the positive impact of our students on campus.“

The event took place on November 11 at the Brooklyn Park campus Student Commons. All students, faculty, and staff were welcome to attend, enjoy refreshments, and take a moment to honor the veterans in the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Tech community.
